Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) is the intelligence and security organisation responsible for providing signals intelligence and information assurance for the government and armed forces of the UK. TheĀ National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC, part of GCHQ) was set up to help protect our critical services from cyber attacks, manage major incidents, and improve the underlying security of the UK Internet through technological improvement and advice to citizens and organisations.
GCHQ plays an advisory role in SWAN and draws on the expertise of key technical staff and contacts from industry to assist in the education and sharing of applicable cyber security knowledge within the team.
